As a scientist I believe that outreach, especially that involving K-12 students and the general public, is incredibly important. When science is demystified, made accessible, and communicated in a way that nearly all can understand, it becomes something to enjoy and get involved in rather than to distrust. Below are a selection of outreach events I regularly engage in and my thoughts on how they benefit the community at large.
